KVIE is far more than television. In fact, we don't think
of ourselves as being in the business of television. Our
business, rather, is really about ideas, learning, arts
and culture, and citizenship. Television is simply the means
by which we deliver these resources to our community.
As
a public service, we profit by improving the community in
which we depend for support. We succeed to the extent that
our children learn, our viewers become engaged in matters
that concern them, and those within our communities join
together in a common cause.

Mission, Vision, Values
Mission
The mission of KVIE, Inc. is to educate, enrich, enlighten and inspire
diverse audiences and individuals through high quality television programming
and related services that enhance the quality of life for people in
the communities we serve.
Vision
KVIE’s vision is to open minds and change lives, giving people
information they need to participate fully in the community we share
and the world around us. KVIE uses technologies to connect our region’s
diverse communities to one another – children to museums, families
to public heath services, voters to government, adult learners to libraries
and universities, and senior citizens to social services.
Values
Education – KVIE provides educational programs and services
for the young and lifelong learners. Our local productions and PBS programming
engage the mind and spirit to promote personal and community growth.
Community – As the only locally owned and managed television
station in the market, KVIE reflects the community back to itself by
creating programs about our region’s past, present and future.
We deliver balanced and responsible programs that foster a civil society.
Quality – KVIE presents and produces uninterrupted programs
free from commercial influences that provide a springboard for family
and community engagement and discussion and are available free to everyone.
